Audi A4

The Audi A4 is a popular compact executive car that has been in production since 1994. It is manufactured by the German automobile manufacturer Audi, which is a subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group. The A4 is known for its sleek design, luxurious interior, and advanced features.

Over the years, the Audi A4 has undergone several generations and updates. Each generation brings improvements in terms of design, technology, and performance. Some notable generations of the Audi A4 include B5 (1994-2001), B6 (2001-2005), B7 (2005-2008), B8 (2008-2015), B9 (2015-present). The A4 is available in different body styles, including sedan, station wagon (Avant), and convertible (Cabriolet).

When it comes to windshield replacement options for the Audi A4, there are a few factors to consider. The windshields for Audi vehicles, including the A4, are typically manufactured by OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) suppliers. Some of the well-known glass manufacturers for Audi vehicles include Saint-Gobain Sekurit, Pilkington, and AGC Automotive. These companies produce high-quality windshields that meet the specifications and standards set by Audi.

In terms of features for windshield replacement, the Audi A4 may come equipped with various advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) that could affect the windshield replacement process. These features can include lane departure warning, forward collision alert, adaptive cruise control, and other ADAS technologies.

When replacing a windshield with ADAS features, it is important to ensure that the replacement windshield is compatible with these systems. The windshield must have the necessary sensors and cameras installed in the correct positions to properly support ADAS functionality. In such cases, recalibration of the ADAS system is often required after the windshield replacement to ensure accurate operation.

Recalibration involves using specialized equipment and software to adjust and align the ADAS sensors and cameras according to the manufacturer’s specifications. This process ensures that the ADAS features, such as lane departure warning and forward collision alert, work correctly and provide accurate information to the driver.

It is important to note that specific features and requirements for windshield replacement, as well as ADAS capabilities, can vary depending on the model year and trim level of the Audi A4. Therefore, it is recommended to consult the owner’s manual or contact an authorized Audi dealer or service center for the most accurate and up-to-date information regarding windshield replacement and ADAS recalibration for a specific Audi A4 model.

If you are not sure which options your vehicle has there’s a few ways we can help you out. The Vin number or vehicle identification number is usually the best way to help us determine what glass replacement part option you have. The vehicle identification number does not include a glass part indication in the 17 character vin code however it does help us determine which parts are specific to your Vehicle.

The factory build sheet is the silver bullet to determining the exact options however finding that can be difficult. Most glass companies can help decode the vin and determine the part however some companies do not ask and may instead ask you to take pictures and send pictures to them to help determine what you have. Another way to find out what options you have on your Vehicle is to contact the local Dealership and speak to the parts department.

They will ask you for your vin and then they should be able to tell you what options your Vehicle has. If you call the dealer make sure to ask them for the Dealer Part Number (If they are willing to provide you with that). Each Dealership is privately owned. Some dealerships are part of a dealership group however some have policies that don’t allow them to give the customer the dealer part number or factory part number. The dealer part number will help the auto glass shop match the part needed for replacing the windshield on your vehicle.

Once you have the dealer part number/factory part number you can also use google to find other dealerships that might have your windshield available and even at a lower price. In situations where the vehicle is brand new the glass may not be available to the local auto glass shop or parts supplier so the dealership may be your only recourse.
