Chevrolet Lane Keep Assist

Chevrolet Lane Keep Assist

There can sometimes be a lot going on around you on the road.  So if you are driving a Chevrolet and your vehicle is equipped with available Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning.

it can help to prevent you from drifting out of your lane. If your car has this newer feature, you’ll see a button or switch on the steering wheel, and a telltale in your Driver Information Center, that looks like this.

Lane Keep Assist operates when you are going over approximately 37 mph.  Or 31 mph (depending on your vehicle). This telltale will turn green when the feature detects the lane lines of the lane you are traveling in.

If it detects you are unintentionally leaving your lane, the Lane Keep Assist icon turns amber. The system will also give a brief “nudge” on the steering wheel to help prevent a lane departure.

If the system detects you are not reacting and you drift out of the lane, the amber Lane Keep Assist telltale flashes to provide a Lane Departure Warning. Three rapid beeps or three seat pulses (if equipped) will occur from the direction of the lane departure.

The feature will not provide a lane departure warning when you are actively steering out of the lane. Or if your turn signal is activated.  Remember, even though this feature can provide momentary nudges, it does not continuously steer the vehicle. So be sure to pay attention at all times. The feature does not work in parking lots or on gravel roads. And visibility, weather and road conditions can all impact the features performance.
